About Zillie Falls

Zillie Falls in the Atherton Tablelands is a spectacular 30-metre single-drop waterfall cascading into a World Heritage-listed rainforest gorge. Located on the 17-kilometre Waterfall Circuit near Millaa Millaa, about 100km southwest of Cairns, the falls feature a short two-minute walk from the car park to a viewing platform overlooking the water plunging over basalt rocks. Entry is free, and the site has no facilities on-site; swimming is not recommended due to steep terrain and strong water flow.

Likely a nice waterfall but it's not entirely visible from the viewing platform at the top. Had to climb down a steep slippery track to take a photo still obscured by a tree. (Other tracks in the Milla Milla area had more developed paths to the falls). There was a track down further to the river but it looked more challenging to navigate. I would recommend water shoes to prevent slipping.

The Zillie Falls are in the Atherton Tablelands & the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, they plunge 15 metres. Formed by Theresa Creek, a tributory of the Sth Johnstone River. Part of the waterfall circuit, a must see!

Nice Falls, the path can be slippery and it s the more wild of the 3 falls part of the fall circuit.

Classic Atherton Tableland waterfall where drainage is cutting back from the Great Escarpment to the east and now cascading across Atherton Basalt. Beautiful! Be careful if heading to the base of the falls beyond the viewing platform as the track is steep and slippery

An impressive waterfall, but a terrible view from the viewing platform and stinging nettle creeping over the barrier, so very dangerous as it was a spot where I was trying to take a photo and it could have ended very badly as I didn't initially see it!! We walked down to the bottom where the view was slightly better, but lots of tree roots, rocks etc so good shoes helpful!
