We stayed on a power site. Although you can’t use high current items, for our setup it worked fine. Ran off our batteries and inverter during the day, and then used the power to top the batteries up over night. As others have said, bathrooms are a bit dated but all functional and clean. Very convenient location for doing whale sharks tours etc with pick up from the front of the park

We originally booked 4 nights and then decided to extend our stay to 6 nights total, simply because we wanted to spend more time in the area, definitely not because the caravan park itself was anything special for the price. At that point, we asked about their “Stay 6 nights, get the 7th free” promotion advertised on the website. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, apparently not. Because the staff had moved us to a different site inside the EXACT SAME caravan park during our stay, suddenly the offer no longer applied. Same booking, same people, same park, same setup… just parked a few meters away. And somehow that magically cancels the promotion. What makes it worse is that none of these “conditions” are actually written anywhere. No warning that: * you can’t change sites, * you must stay in the exact same spot, * or that the promotion disappears the moment they relocate you. So in the end it honestly just felt like an excuse to make sure we paid full price anyway. A pretty disappointing way to treat guests who were actually planning to stay longer and spend more money there. Just a heads up for anyone considering staying here: be careful with these promotions, because they seem to work only when it benefits the park, not the customer.

We stayed here recently and overall it was an okay stay, but there are definitely some things that need improving. The biggest issue was the powered/water sites. It seems like around 5–6 sites are sharing the same power and water access point, and depending on where you’re positioned, some people can’t properly access the power or water they’ve paid for. Another issue was the grey water drain pipe being blocked. Instead of it being fixed, people were being told to run their grey water to random trees, which unfortunately caused some pretty bad smells around nearby campsites. We also had an unpleasant interaction with the manager. There seemed to be some miscommunication regarding having two cars on our site, as we had previously been told it would be okay. We completely understand policies need to be followed, but the way it was handled came across quite rude and unprofessional, including threats to remove everyone from the site if another car was seen. A calmer and more understanding approach would have gone a long way. We understand the cyclone has likely caused disruptions and damage, and we do appreciate that. However, some of these issues seem like things that could be managed or maintained a bit better moving forward. The location itself has potential, but the overall experience could definitely be improved.

Nice camping set up, perfect if you have a boat, the ramp is about 2km away. Has everything you need except ac. They generate thier own electricity so anything with a heavy draw cannot be used. But this is a minor inconvenience for such a lovely place. Great for the beaches and also so the Yardie creek boat tour, highly recommended.

For a place to stay out in the middle of nowhere with quick access to Cape Range Park, this place does good. It's pretty rough and you can't connect full time to water or run a/c or microwave (or anything with a heating element), but just manage your expectations considering how far away this location is from civilization, and you'll have a great time. Fishing is good off the beach in the area as well.
