Love the experience here. Managed to see wild koalas, wallabys and emus during the walk, not to mention the views. It's quite a walk up and down the hill. Make sure to wear good walking shoes for it.

Fantastic experience. Free entry, not crowded, and we saw wild kangaroos (with joeys), and koalas! Hike around was great too as the trails are well maintained.

The view of the craters rock formations as you enter the park are amazing, photos just don't do it justice. As we drove in, we were greeted by 2 Emus just walking up the side of the road, we didn't see them again unfortunately, however we did see quite a few koalas. There are four walks of differing abilities within the reserve, we did the Lava Tongue Boardwalk, which was pleasant, I personally feel that a little more signage would be beneficial for the walks and on the tracks. Near the carpark there are picnic tables and toilets and trees for shade, currently the visitor information centre is temporarily closed (although it looks abandoned so I would think not opening again any time soon). After we spent time down in the park, we enjoyed a drive to the scenic sights from up above. I would recommend this before leaving the area as it just tops off the whole experience. The park is free to enter and managed by Parks Victoria.

Absolutely amazing! Several koalas around the central picnic tables. Some emus walked by and they got aggressive towards people who had food. I'm guessing they have been fed in the past. Beautiful view from the entrance. Free.

A road leads down and around the lakes formed in the base of this volcano. This is a one-way road and suitable for caravans. There are plenty of walks trails from 30mins to 1 hour, a visitor centre, picnic tables, BBQ’s and much wildlife. No water or rubbish bins here. Guided tours available daily at 11am or by appointment.
