White Mountains National Park near Hughenden in Queensland features Canns Camp Creek, the park's only campground set in peaceful savanna woodland. The 8 numbered campsites sit above a seasonal flowing creek bend, with facilities including non-flush toilets and fire rings. The camping area is accessible by 4WD vehicle (not suitable for caravans) via an unsealed road approximately 11 kilometres from the park entrance. Booking is required and fees apply. The cooler months from April to September are ideal for visiting, when temperatures average a comfortable 28°C. Mobile phone coverage is unreliable.
