It was great to pay a visit to this amazing lookout. There is definitely a hidden Gem next to the lookout and that is the Army track. It is a short hike of 1km return alltogether. Breathtaking views with old army stations at the bottom of the hill near the water.

A great place for a picnic with family or friends, with many trails ideal for hiking. Picnic areas are well equipped with gas BBQs, seating, and amenities. We arrived late and missed the hike, but from what we saw, Resolute Beach looks stunning. The return hike from West Head Lookout is about one hour and definitely worth planning for next time.

The views over Pittwater, Broken Bay, Barrenjoey Headland, and Lion Island are breathtaking and feel like a real escape from the city. The lookout is well looked after, with benches and clear signs, making it easy to relax and enjoy the scenery. There are great walking options too, from a short walk from the car park to longer trails like the Resolute Loop that leads to quiet beaches. Try to go on a clear day—sunset is especially magical. Just remember the $12 entry fee for Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Highly recommend it for nature lovers and photography fans.
