Amazing falls. Photos can't capture the sheer scale of the drop here. I wish we could have made the walk to the bottom but we were carrying some injuries when we went. There are signs advising of the level of fitness required to do the walk. The drive in is a good hour each way from Ingham, with windy, single lane, blind corners and rough road, so not for inexperienced drivers. Worth it though. Good car parking and clean toilets at the lookout. Great setup for getting some photos or having some lunch on the tables.

I never get sick of this place! This was my third time visiting and third time questioning my life decisions walking back up πŸ˜‚ But in all seriousness it's definitely worth the drive and if you're adventurous go for a hike down, but get ready to come back up. For regular hikers it's a breeze, but for casual people difficultly will vary.

Please make the effort in driving the winding, ascending 20km road to the top of Wallaman Falls. It is a must see and the most amazing view where you get to enjoy the vastness of this area. There is a short 300 metre track to the right which have further views and expansive appreciation again. Please leave your camp trailer or caravan at the base, if passing through, so to enjoy the drive. This is clearly sign posted at the base of ascension.

Wallaman Falls – World Heritage Wonder πŸŒπŸ’¦ Located within the UNESCO-listed Wet Tropics of Queensland, Wallaman Falls is Australia’s highest single-drop waterfall at 268 m. Its powerful plunge, set against ancient rainforest, makes it one of the world’s most remarkable natural sites and a true highlight of Earth’s natural heritage. 🌿✨ Visited earlier in the year with Dennis and myself, Shamini. We drove from Ingham, where it had been raining in the days leading up to our visit, adding to the lush, fresh feel of the surrounding landscape. The trip was made following advice and recommendations from the local tourism centre, which confirmed that access was open and conditions were safe despite the recent wet weather. Drivers are advised to take extra caution along the mountain road, as there were some fallen rocks in places following the rain. However, clear signage is in place along the route, reminding visitors to slow down and drive carefully through the winding sections.

This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I’ve ever seen. It’s a must-visit destination if you’re travelling around Townsville. The 2-hour drive is absolutely worth it!
