Waitpinga Campground within Newland Head Conservation Park sits on the southern Fleurieu Peninsula, 91km south of Adelaide near Victor Harbor. The sheltered 15-site campground offers unpowered camping among mallee or open shrub-protected areas, with toilets and a large communal gas barbecue. A short walk from Waitpinga Beach, the location is ideal for surfing and fishing (swimming is unsuitable), day walking, and rock climbing on coastal cliffs. Booking ahead is essential, dogs are not permitted, and only gas and liquid fuel fires are allowed except on Total Fire Ban days.
