--- Beautiful experience on the Forest Train at Hotham Valley. The staff in the shop were lovely, and the team on the train were equally friendly and welcoming. The kids especially enjoyed the ride—they had a great time exploring the train, listening to the different track sounds, and trying to figure out where each noise was coming from.

Such a great experience especially for kids. The Forest train to Etmilyn is definitely the best out of the 2 and when you get to Etmilyn you can either walk the gorgeous trail they have or watch them bring the engine around. Also both trains are dog friendly and mine loved it!

I love trains and really need to take this trip at some point. Was on a road trip and decided to take a break and lucky me the trains were about to start shunting to take the tour. Good to watch the South Fremantle diesel train hook up and take off. Cute railway station though and plenty of old trains carriages and diesel locomotives you can see but can’t jump on.

WOW! What an experience! Sandy, James, Chris and Vince! Absolutely amazing! 5 course dinner, service was fab. Was with a coach of bunch of people from coach west and they were the best! Honesty best experience EVER!! Highly recommend it! Very loud but do it!!!! 10/10!!!!

Wonderful piece of railway history. Nice scenic ride through the forest and farmland. The whole organization is run by volunteer and enthusiasts and you can feel the love and the positive vibe throighout. I went on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get ticket on the spot. The ticket office has many memobrilia on sale and worth a look. The train and carriage is an older type similar to slow train in Thailand. There is a canteen on board selling drinks and snacks. The ride itself is around 2hr. It travels at only 10-15km/hr in a back and forth path. It would have been nice if there was something to interact at the stop. Tip: Wild flower was starting to bloom on 31 August. If you visit in September it should be in full bloom.
