This is a great lookout! It has a small parking lot and the some intense steps upward but the view in both directions are amazing and there are some info signs about the history which are sad! Definitely a cool and small stop when going around on Bruny Island! The beach there also has penguins come in during their breading season after dark so slow down!

Absolutely worth the stop when visiting Bruny Island. The climb to Truganini Lookout includes around 100+ stairs, but every step is worth it. The views over The Neck, the coastline, and the ocean on both sides are simply stunning. Great photo opportunities, fresh sea air, and one of the best viewpoints in Tasmania. A must visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the most picturesque stop on Bruny! The stair climb is not hard if you take your time and stop on the platforms. It’s a 360 degree view of everything! About 300 steps up. Can also walk along a boardwalk past penguin burrows to the beach. Excellent photo opportunities! Great car park and toilets are available.

Climbing the steps to the top feels like a small effort compared to the weight of the story behind this place. Named in honour of Truganini, a Nuenonne woman and one of the most significant figures in Tasmanian Aboriginal history. The lookout is a reminder of resilience, survival and truth. It’s about 200 steps to the top, and every one of them rewards you with sweeping views over “The Neck,” where the land narrows to a ribbon between two wild coastlines. A powerful place, in every sense.

A beautiful lookout with outstanding panoramic views over Hobart and the Derwent River. The walk up is short, well-maintained, and delivers an impressive payoff within minutes. Great spot for sunrise or sunset photos, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for a quick stop or part of a day trip. Clean, safe, easy access, and a meaningful cultural site as well. Strongly recommend for anyone visiting Hobart — excellent value for the time invested.
