Just tried to book this place as we are coming up at the end of the year and this is the first place that has refused to take a deposit then pay the rest off at a later date. Originally I was told that there is nothing they could do as it's policy for full payment to be taken upfront. I have since been contacted by one of the hotels senior managers who was really understanding and was able to help They have advised they are working on updating the system to offer a deposit service which will be great It's just a shame I had to write a negative review to get someone's attention We look forward to staying here π

The owners have done a wonderful job, it's perfect for adults and children. Every detail thought through - ensuite at the camping sites are exceptionally designed, totally pet friendly (even at restaurant and spa!) really good coffee at the cafe + GF options, activities for the children brilliant esp junior zip lining well explained and supervised to be challenging AND safe for the kids. This is a wonderland. Well done to the staff and owners, brilliant experience.

Thunderbird park- Cool place.. small tools for mining, but good for kids.. I got blisters so id recommended taking gloves and also definitely a hat and water, it does get hot especially when digging. They have a cutting machine to cut your stones you find and a small shop with stones to look at or buy.. For like $10? you can get a bag of sand, filled with coloured crystals to pan and find yourself theyre pretty rich in stone chips- great to give the kids a cool experience, and guaranteed to get something. They also have real working mini excavators for the kids or adults? To experience moving dirt and from what I could see there was a wrecking ball type thing too to either knock stuff off or practice placement carefully? I didn't actually stick around to watch.. but looked fun for kids.. We Didn't do or see any other stuff but im sure there's more.. I would recommend going for a cool day out with kids and a different experience..

We had a great time up at Thunderbird Park. As a family, we did the Geode Fossicking. It was fairly priced for what it was, a bit of fun, but my kids found it very hard work. They were given bouts of motivation when they found something cool though. Take your swimmers as the creek was really nice to cool off in on a hot day. We had lunch there aswell, which was on the higher priced side, but as a tourist destination its to be expected. The service we received from any of the staff there though was awesome. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back for other activities or even to camp.
