Arrived nice and early with only two other cars there. Felt like we were on cloud9 this morning the fog was heavy and wind quite strong but it eventually all cleared and died down. The sun did come through a few times. Absolutely stunning and breathtaking. Took many long moments to just soak it all in, be still and sit quietly to just enjoy the views and beautiful fresh air!!

Pinnacle Lookout is easily one of the most impressive views in the Grampians. The walk up is absolutely worth the effort — the scenery changes constantly along the way and the final lookout is breathtaking. Went from Wonderland park and took us something around 40 minutes to climb up on easy pace. The panoramic views over Halls Gap and the surrounding mountains are incredible, especially on a clear day. There are plenty of amazing photo spots, but honestly the view in real life looks even better than pictures. What I really liked was that the hike feels adventurous without needing to be an expert hiker. Walking through the rock formations near the top makes the whole experience feel unique and memorable. If you’re visiting the Grampians, this is a must-do.

I have done this hike a couple of times and it is always enjoyable. The trail itself is not tough but it does require some effort to navigate through the rocks. The difficulty varies with your fitness, particularly when moving through the rocks. Proper footwear makes a big difference. This is one of the best lookouts in the Grampians National Park. You can take amazing photos with a beautiful backdrop. The Pinnacle walk from the Wonderland Carpark is the most scenic and direct route to the famous lookout. It takes you through the dramatic Grand Canyon section and the narrow Silent Street gorge. The return trip takes around two hours. Most people visit the Grampians just to see this lookout and if you have not been before it is definitely worth the time.

As a beginner hiker (I rarely hike, though I enjoy it when I do), I found this trail quite tough. There’s a lot of uphill walking and plenty of steps, so be prepared. We started from the Wonderland car park, went through the Grand Canyon, and continued all the way up to the Pinnacle. Along the way we passed Echo Wall, Cool Chamber, Bridal Veil Falls, and Silent Street. These stops were the only things stopping us from constantly asking ourselves why we willingly signed up for this. The view is absolutely worth the effort, but make sure you have good-quality hiking shoes and are ready for a rocky climb. I highly recommend going as early as possible. You’ll enjoy the experience much more without the crowds. We started at 8:40am and reached the top exactly an hour later, with only two other hikers there. By the time we began our walk back down, we passed around 30–40 people heading up toward the main lookout. I can’t imagine trying to enjoy such a spectacular view with people lining up and waiting for photo opportunities. I also recommend going early to guarantee yourself a car park (at least if you’re planning to go to the Wonderland Carpark). When we arrived there was plenty of parks, but as we left (about 11:00am) the parking was full and people were waiting for a spot to free up. Overall, the hike took us about 2 hours round trip. It is a MUST-DO when visiting the Grampians.

I started from the Wonderland carpark. Tough but rewarding challenge. Distance indicated is as the crow flies. Walking distance is at least double. Bring at least 2 litres of water and wear decent footwear. I went via the Grand Canyon and found breath taking scenery around every corner all the way to the Pinnacle. Signage is subtle but track is well worn and can just follow the wear marks in the granite. My pictures are in sequence from the start and should give an idea of what to expect.
