About The Palms National Park
The Palms National Park near Cooyar in Queensland's Toowoomba region is a 73-hectare reserve protecting a remnant of subtropical rainforest and vine forest in a spring-fed gully. The centerpiece is an almost-exclusive stand of piccabeen palms set in rainforest, alongside strangler figs, bunya and hoop pines, and buttressed trees. A circuit track and boardwalks guide visitors through the rainforest. More than 90 bird species have been recorded in the park. Camping is not permitted, but day visits for walks and picnics are welcome.
