We had an 80th birthday lunch in the event room to the right as you go in. It was decorated beautifully by the staff. The room hire includes wait staff who were amazing and took care of our guests wonderfully. The room has it's own toilet adjacent to it. The food was fantastic, and the view exceptional. Overall, I can find no fault with anything. The cakes were also made by the staff. Thank you for making the day wonderful. Whilst we did not stay in the cabins (it's now on my bucket list), if they are anything like the rest of the resort, they are beautiful with attention to detail.

We stayed at Secrets on the Lake in Montville for one night and were genuinely disappointed that we couldn’t stay longer. On arrival, we were greeted by George, one of the owners, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Learning that he has been running the property for over 40 years was impressive, and his passion for the place shines through in every detail. We stayed in the Bower Treehouse, which George told us was the second treehouse he and Aldy built. The craftsmanship and creativity throughout were simply beautiful. Everything inside was handcrafted from wood, giving the treehouse a warm, unique character that felt both luxurious and connected to nature. The spa was amazing, the fireplace was incredible, and having plenty of firewood right at our door made for a perfect, cosy evening. The views were exceptional, and walking around the property was a highlight in itself. The lake is absolutely breathtaking, the gardens are delightful, and every corner feels peaceful and thoughtfully designed. We loved the little extras too, including the outdoor BBQ, filtered water, and the balcony with its hanging swing, which was incredibly comfortable and the perfect place to relax and take in the surroundings. Everything had been thought of, and it was clear how much care has gone into creating such a special place. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Secrets on the Lake to anyone looking for a unique and memorable getaway.

Our stay at Secrets on the Lake in Montville felt truly special from start to finish. The moment we arrived, we were struck by how serene and thoughtfully designed everything was—it’s the kind of place that instantly helps you switch off and unwind. A standout part of our visit was the treetop walk with George, the owner. His passion for the property really shines through, and hearing the stories behind its creation added so much depth to the experience. Seeing the intricate details and craftsmanship up close made it even more memorable. We also enjoyed breakfast at the café, which exceeded expectations. The food was fresh and flavourful, the coffee was excellent, and the lakeside setting made it all the more enjoyable. For anyone wanting a peaceful getaway with character and genuine hospitality, this place is well worth a visit. It’s somewhere that stays with you long after you leave—and we’re already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend Secrets on the Lake. Absolutely magical! I've been here at various times over the past several years. Always a delight, whether here for overnight accommodations or for a meal - or, as yesterday, an unannounced stop-in (in a Monday, when the restaurant was closed.) George made us feel very welcome and offered a tour of the grounds. Great fun! This is a beautiful and very unique property, with amazing accomodations, wonderful meals, welcoming owners, George and Aldy, and their staff. It's always a special privilege to experience Secrets on the Lake.

We began our stay with lunch in the restaurant. The chef’s special fish curry was delicious.. George escorted us to our Lizard’s Lair and helped us settle in. From the moment we walked in the door we were delighted. The attention to detail was amazing. The bespoke fit out was an artisan’s delight. We spent 3 nights & could have stayed longer. The gardens are beautiful and well worth a walk around. Our welcome & staff attention was so appreciated. It was our 50th anniversary and we thank everyone who helped make our stay memorable.
