About Tewantin National Park

Tewantin National Park spans 13 square kilometers of subtropical Queensland landscape featuring rainforests, eucalypt forests, old volcanoes, and swamps home to threatened amphibian species and about 70 bird species. Located 2km west of Tewantin and 10km from Noosa Heads, the park offers over 25km of walking and mountain biking trails through peaceful native bushland and wildlife habitat including echidnas, swamp wallabies, and wallum froglets. Officially declared in 1947, it provides excellent wilderness recreation opportunities without camping facilities, making it ideal for day visits and hiking adventures in the Wide Bay-Burnett region.
