Shelly Beach is a southwest-facing beach just west of Kilcunda, bounded by picturesque rocky headlands with continuous intertidal rock flats. At low tide, sand dries high; at high tide, it becomes safer for swimming. The beach is popular with rock fishers and offers right-hand reef breaks for surfers off the western headland, though strong rips can develop when swell is running.
