Would have been a great place to stay however the woman behind the desk was a sour cow and the gate system to get in and out didn’t work. We were nearly stuck inside the park because the gate wouldn’t let us out and the office was closed. Also all of the taps leaked and there was black mould on the window sills.

What a wonderfil & restful stay on the beachfront. Star gazing from this area is amazing with very limited white light polution, of course depending on moon phase. My only though; it is a shame to be in crocodile country as swimming would be amazing here. Beach walks are beautiful, though please note to remain at least 5 - 6 metres from shoreline as crocs are noted to be regularly seen in this area and down the estuary mouth from beach. I myself have noted on croc fish feeding activity near the island sand bar, close to estuary mouth and near to park beach access. The cabins, I have heard, are lovely & roomy, though not had the opportunity to see inside one. Camp ground facilities include pool, camp kitchen, Saturday night pizzas with open bar and including kids movie on Saturday (unsure about Fridays for these) and live music on Saurday late afternoon which showed some good sounding local talent whilst waiting on and enjoying pizza. CP office has some frozen seafood options that are reasonably priced and good selection of gourmet icecreams. Bait available for the keen fisherman, that may be running out. NB: Bring the insect repellents and skin soothing creams for the pesky midgies and fly bites. They are not a bother when the wind is up!

Park managers Gary and Georgie are absolutely wonderful people. Friendly and accommodating they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. If you ask them nicely they'll give you the good fishing spots too. 🎣

Pretty Disappointed. Booked for Easter long weekend. Minimum stay - We were made to book a minimum of 5 nights as a camper trailer family of 4. Yet other people of smaller and larger groups. Even friends came and went around us. Jumping pillow - Deflated - no mention of this prior to arrival - looks like its been out of action for months. Pump track - Dismal Sites - some really nice. Some very unlevel and under huge gum trees Bins - Easter weekend granted. However bins are overflowing our whole 5 nights stay and they are stinking out the whole park at all hours. Pool - Awesome Basketball hoop - No hoop, this really disappointed as they are no more than $20 at kmart nothing but a blank backboard. Grounds - overgrown in some forgotten places - basketball area Beautiful spot but overall really disappointing for $96 a night

New owners have ruined this place. Below average park with povo facilities. Camp kitchen is FILTHY fridges don’t work properly. Gas stoves leak and don’t self ignite so cooking is a near death experience followed by lots of waiting. Cafe is a van that doesn’t open day or night. No cold water or bubblers just HOT tap water due to the scorching weather. Camp sites are desolate with much dust and no grass. Jumping pillow is flat. Playground has been pulled down. Black spot algae and green algae in the soup warm pool. Beach is croc infested and completely fenced off. Not allowed to keep any fish that you catch. Zero provisions on site except for $4 softdrink, chocolate bars and bait. No milk even! The reception staff are disinterested and unwilling. So painful. Would not recommend this place to anyone. There’s plenty of better places around Townsville. Look elsewhere.
