One of the most spectacular viewpoints on the drive between Palm Cove and Port Douglas. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the road, making it easy to stop for a few minutes and soak in the breathtaking coastline views. The turquoise waters, endless beaches and rainforest-covered mountains create one of the most iconic scenes in Tropical North Queensland. But the scenery isnβt always the most memorable part. If youβre lucky, you may meet Rhett, a local hang-gliding enthusiast who often stops here with his campervan. Watching him launch into the sky above the Coral Sea is an unforgettable sight. He later shared some incredible photographs of his flights with usβone of them soaring past a crescent moon looked like something straight out of a magazine. Places are beautiful because of their landscapes. They become special because of the people you meet there. Rex Lookout has both. The lookout is stunning, but meeting a local adventurer who spends his days flying above this coastline made the experience truly unforgettable. Sometimes the best part of travelling isnβt the destinationβitβs the people you unexpectedly meet along the way.

Rex Lookout is one of those places that makes you pull over and simply take it all in. The views over the coastline are absolutely breathtaking, with stunning turquoise water, lush rainforest-covered hills, and endless ocean stretching into the distance. Itβs an easy stop along the drive and well worth taking a few minutes to enjoy the scenery and grab some photos. Thereβs plenty of space to park, and the lookout provides an incredible perspective of one of Australiaβs most beautiful coastal roads. Whether youβre heading north or south, Rex Lookout is a must-stop destination that perfectly showcases the beauty of Far North Queensland.

Nice view but not well maintained, itβs just on the highway towards Port Douglas from cairns, 3 to 4 parking π ΏοΈ spots available but we have to cross the road cautiously, Queensland government can really make this attraction point, I am surprised why still itβs not been considered for development, as you search in google it gets listed as attraction to visitors
