Great place for sunset / hills photos. The damn wall is something else too.

Beautiful lookout! The reservoir and background lake is gorgeous, along with the mountain views in the other direction

I have lived in Adelaide my whole life and never visited the Myponga Reservoir before. I should have. It's gorgeous. As we rounded the corner and I saw the reservoir in the distance I gasped, I thought it was so beautiful. The slow drive across the reservoir wall was a lovely experience, then the view from the lookout was really special. Well worth any detour to have a look. Hard to capture the true beauty in a photo but I gave it a whirl.

Great view, and nice stop. Area needs some repairs but overall you are there for the view

The view from the lookout is picturesque. Thereβs ample enough parking spots. The environment is calm and quiet. I would say peaceful. You can take a drive on the banks of the dam too. However large vehicles have restrictions. There are a lot of people coming to visit the dam. The day we went, the water levels were a little high due to rain during the week.
