Red Rocks Beach on Phillip Island's north side showcases distinctive iron oxide-stained rocks that give the beach its vibrant red hue. The sheltered bay offers calm swimming conditions, and rock pools fringing the shoreline teem with colorful fish, crabs, and starfish. Snorkeling and rock pool exploration are popular here, with scenic views across to French Island and Mornington Peninsula.

Red Rocks Beach is a peaceful coastal spot located near Cowes on Phillip Island, around a 2-hour drive from Melbourne. The highlight of this beach is its unique red rock formations, which create a striking contrast against the blue ocean and make for excellent photo opportunities. The area is clean and well-maintained, with parking, picnic facilities, and public toilets available. The calm waters and scenic surroundings make it a pleasant place for a walk, relaxation, or sunset viewing. However, the beach itself is relatively small, and there may not be enough activities to justify a dedicated trip from Melbourne. Itβs best combined with other Phillip Island attractions for a full day out. Overall, itβs a relaxing and photogenic stop with beautiful coastal views.

Itβs a nice, small beach walk right in town. Nothing overly special, but still a pleasant spot to stretch your legs and enjoy the surroundings. Solid for a quick visit.

Beautiful area to watch the sunset, easy to park. The sun reflecting on the red rocks turned the ocean pink
