Drive up to the Lookout and enjoy the views. There is a nice, little walk a couple of hundred meters before the actual Lookout where you can sot some wildlife, birds and kangaroos. You can also walk at the Lookout. The restaurant is at the top. Plenty of parking

I was on my way from my home in Brisbane, to the Snowy's on my 2017 BMW R1200GS Rallye in October 2024. Its an easy spot to get too from the city. As a lookout goes, its a shame that the trees have grown to a height to significantly block the view that should be clearly visible. Met some locals up here and they said that its their favourite spot in Canberra. I just don't see the attraction. There is also a quite steep walking track that heads straight up the hill from the lower car park & access road, that another local informed me that after his heart bypass operation 18 months ago, he does this climb twice per week now. Although I have never really been a fan of the show, it was good to see that Dr Who was paying Canberra a visit in October 2024, as his "Tardis" is parked just east of the Red Hill lookout. After returning back home to Brisbane I have done more research on this area, and found that if you continue a little further along this road, it will take you to a much better lookout & Café (Lunetta) Ill go there next time in Canberra I think.

This is such a nice part of Canberra! 😀 the whole Red Hill Nature Reserve is amazing. You can park up the top near Lunetta and walk around. We had parked on Mugga Way in a small car park and then walked around Red Hill. It is so nice to climb up and explore the area. There are plenty of wattle trees and it is flowering very nice at the moment. There are tracks at a Junction going in 8 different directions and not signposted. Maybe some better signs around the reserve would make it easier. The maps around the track were pretty average
