Big 4 can't control the weather but they sure can control the comfort or not if that is what you prefer. If you choose a non powered site renovated bathroom, showers and kitchen with kettles, toasters, fridges, and even microwaves. They've got amazing campgrounds right off the waters edge and an entire fridge of beer at standard prices. Believe this a 6 pack for $20. Hot damn. Clean and maintained facilities, grounds and also one of those colourful big balloon bouncing dome. Everything you absolutely need for the very best week of camping of your life for whatever your family and friends needs.

What an experience at the Rainbow Beach Big 4 Holiday Park. We were a little nervous booking after reviews said there were Midgees around so we armed ourselves with every insecticide available on the market including the old fashioned mosquito coils and off we went. From the time of arrival we knew it was going to be a great place for a few days. The park entrance was very well manicured, neat and tidy. Reception was warm and welcoming so by the time we drove through the boom gate and down to our site past all the cabins with beautiful gardens we were feeling pretty excited. Our site was amazing with easy access and healthy green grassy sites we were set for a great time. The ablution blocks were cleaned daily (doesn’t happen in every park I can tell you) and very tidy indeed. All the Staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem for anyone. Stayed 4 nights and NO Midgees so happy days. The sunsets over Tin Can Bay strait are gorgeous and you can even have a campfire to add to the ambience of the holiday. Great spot, fantastic Staff, beautiful well presented park with a Thai food van on site to save you cooking on Friday nights. Loved our stay and never had to break out the insecticide for the Midgees.

Nice facilities and friendly staff. Not overly packed. We ended up leaving a night early due to the midges/sandflies being unbearable, even will good repellent. The playground was good for toddlers. The games room could definitely do with an update, lots of machines not working and a bit run down. Close to Rainbow Beach which was great.

We stayed 2 nights (out of our booked 3), on an unpowered camping site we chose close-ish to the water. Bins, showers, toilets, communal kitchen all within a stones throw from unpowered camping areas. No complaints on the showers and toilets. It's a caravan park, not the Hilton. Not super clean but good enough for a wash. The grounds were nice, and there's a nice view if setup in a good spot. What really lets this location down is the midgees. No fault of the owners, but being close to the water - there's inevitably insects. This place is no exception and you will get eaten alive, even with stupid amounts of deet. We enjoyed our 2 nights, but after some exploring on day 3 and arriving back to rain and someone having setup 10 metres away from us when the entire park was basically empty, we weren't prepared to deal with the midges for another night. Thanks for having us. We will definitely be returning to Rainbow Beach.

Stayed in a cabin and it was better than I expected, clean and solid with great shower and excellent water pressure. It actually felt like a self catering hotel room not a 'Donga' like most parks. Too busy working to see the sights, it is about 4kms from the town too. I was warned of the vicious midges out at the site by a local, but did not get attacked, mind you I was not camping and stayed inside. Best be prepared tho'
