About Newland Head Conservation Park

Newland Head Conservation Park protects two long beaches—Waitpinga and Parsons—on the Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide. The park features scenic clifftop walking trails through rolling sand dunes and mallee heath vegetation with views toward Kangaroo Island. Two campgrounds are available: Waitpinga and Natunyuru Ngawanthi. Though unsuitable for swimming due to strong rips, the area is excellent for bird watching, with over 100 native species and rare Southern Brown Bandicoots recorded here.
