I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The beach ranger was rude, dismissive, and spoke to us in a demeaning and disrespectful manner. We genuinely weren’t aware of the specific 4WD rules, but instead of explaining them professionally, we were immediately treated like we’d done something wrong on purpose. What made the situation even worse was that the ranger accused us of lying when we had been completely honest the entire time. Being spoken to in such a nasty way and having disrespectful comments directed at us was unnecessary and unprofessional. I understand that rangers have an important job enforcing rules, and I fully respect that. However, there is no reason people should be spoken to with such hostility, especially when they’re willing to listen and comply. A little respect and professionalism would have made the situation completely different.

Had a couple of nice days in the area caravanning and paddle boarding. Nice clear shallow water. Can get windy. Beautiful wildlife. Bombah point, NSW

Very clean and well space camping areas, we stayed at Dee's Corner and some of the site away from the road have great shade and are all very close to the lake, water is brackish but clean and clean. Sandy bottom made it easy to walk about. There is a walking track to the surf beach directly opposite the camp ground, with a pretty easy walk to the beach. There is 4wd access to the beach there too but you do need a permit. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Wonderful bush camping spots in Mungo Brush campground, near the water ( where you can see sunsets over the lake)and right next to a section of rainforest, home to 1000's of fruit bats. Incredible birdwatching as well, including the glorious black and gold regent bowerbird. Pit toilets, no showers, bring own water.

Great park - there are camping fees and park entry fees but it's well worth it for the facilities and how beautiful this park is. Bring you're own firewood if there isn't a ban and keep your eye out for dingoes and goannas.
