About MV Natone

M.V. Natone is the third camping area at Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area on Queenslands Wide Bay coast, with open bush camping behind foredunes and beachfront. High clearance 4WD access only; tents and small structures permitted but not suitable for caravans. Sites are allocated first-come, best-placed with coastal trees providing dappled shade, some offering ocean views toward Kgari, and inland sites sheltered from sun and wind. Three toilet blocks including wheelchair access; rubbish bins at exits. Dogs must be on lead. Permits required and fees apply. Named after the M.V. Natone, a 450-ton vessel with Antarctic exploration history that ran aground nearby in 1959.
