About Mount Sturgeon
Mount Sturgeon (Wurgarri) is the southernmost major peak in Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park, rising above the town of Dunkeld. The 6.2 km return walk (2.5–3.5 hours) is rated hard, with steep sections, water crossings, loose rocks and a false peak to navigate before reaching the true summit. The panoramic views from the top sweep across the surrounding ranges and volcanic plains. Dogs are not permitted on the trail; start at the Mount Sturgeon Walk Carpark on Victoria Valley Road.
