A nice drive up to Mount Stromlo to see the view. The last time I was there was just after the sevasting bushfire rhat destroyed the main observatory. Whilst it has an eerie look to see what remains, it is great to see that the ANU have fully functioning telescopes back up there and a thriving learning community. The views are spectacular and so is the wildlife. Great to visit even if it just for the drive.

Really interesting place to visit with amazing views and a lot of history. Mount Stromlo Observatory has fascinating exhibits about astronomy and space, and the atmosphere is peaceful and unique. Great spot for photos, a walk around the grounds, and learning something new while enjoying the scenery.

An interesting self guided tour. Although the largest of the telescopes was burnt down in 2003 bush fires, there are a handful of newly built ones there.

Feels isolated in a good way. Beautiful view. Lots of birds and especially kangaroos. Definitely worth going. Just bring appropriate shoes because there isn't a spot on grass/soil that isn't covered in roo poop. Or just stay on cement. Surprisingly not too smelly. Also quite windy.

This was a fascinating place to explore, with both new observatories and older buildings around the site, all within walking distance from each other. Tours are available on certain days but not necessarily needed. At the top there's a breathtaking views, a few biking tracks too and lots of kangaroos in the area.
