An impressive 80-metre plunge waterfall in Lamington National Park's Green Mountains section, Morans Falls can be reached via a rewarding 1.5-hour walk on the 4.4km return Morans Falls Track through subtropical rainforest flanked by booyongs and figs. The falls fluctuate between a thunderous roar after rain and a gentle trickle in drier months, with ancient volcanic lava layers visible along the valley, forming small cliff-lines that speak to the Tweed Shield Volcano's 23-million-year history.
