Comprising 676 hectares of four separate protected areas in the Fassifern Valley 70 kilometres south west of Brisbane, Moogerah Peaks National Park protects volcanic peaks and rocky cliffs surrounding Moogerah Dam. These ancient peaks were thrust up 24 million years ago by the Main Range volcano and now feature eucalypt woodland, rare brigalow scrub, and dry rainforest. The mounts are renowned for spectacular bushwalking with Mount French's Frog Buttress offering one of Queensland's most popular rock climbing venues.
