McCarthy's Lookout is a scenic viewpoint in Maleny, Queensland, named after Joseph McCarthy who farmed the area in the 1880s. On clear days, it provides almost 360-degree views of the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Was a great place to take photos. I took some infrastructure red photos from a modified dslr

This is not really a "lookout" but rather a viewpoint situated beside the road that offers a scenic overlook of the surrounding area. Parking could be crowded very easily. Drone photography is strictly prohibited in this location. The road leading to the viewpoint is steep and somewhat hazardous to drive, with sharp inclines and narrow lanes. Additionally, I observed frequent police presence nearby, indicating increased surveillance or patrol activity in the area.

Beautiful scenic drive to the lookout. The lookout itself features a stunning view of The Glass House Mountains. Amenities include a fairly large carpark and picnic tables... no restrooms though. Drones are prohibited here. The general area is perfect for weddings or honeymoons.

Amazing views and well worth the walk but some of the tracks have a lot of large lose rocks and make the going difficult with a lot of potential for rolled ankles or slips if you aren't set up for the wall. The end of the trail involves a bit of a climb... but the views are spectacular and well worth the effort
