Did a hike with friends earlier this year at Main Range National Park, and it was an unforgettable experience on the Scenic Rim. We tackled a Grade 4 hiking track targeting Mount Cordeaux Lookout β€” a challenging yet very rewarding trail. The hike was approximately 12.4 km with an elevation gain of around 421 m, reaching an altitude of about 1135 m. The trail was beautiful and took us through lush rainforest, making the climb both demanding and enjoyable. We started at the Allan Cunningham Memorial, which added a nice historical touch to the beginning of the walk. On the way down, we stopped to rest at the Fassifern Lookout, where we were treated to stunning panoramic views β€” the perfect spot to pause, recover, and take it all in. A fantastic destination for experienced hikers looking for natural beauty, physical challenge, and breathtaking views. Highly recommended for anyone exploring Queensland’s great outdoors.

Beautiful campgrounds, waterpark adjacent calming river water rushing by, plenty of wildlife. Shops and cafes short walk along the river or footpath.

Many tracks were closed when we visited. Queen Mary falls was a nice two km circuit with views from top and crossing at bottom. Daggs falls is just a platform to view. Getting to Browns falls was the challenge but we did it going up along the stream. Not for the light hearted.

Absolutely beautiful national park, lots of hikes, mostly accessible with a normal car. Two creek crossings, one little one , one stepper one before most of the hikes. I would recommend a 4wd but could probably get across it in a normal car. Hikes all beautiful, very well signed, tracks well maintained.
