About Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform

Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform in Warrnambool provides free access to view Southern Right whales during their June-September migration season. The specially constructed platform in the sand dunes and accessible beach-level viewing areas are open year-round with no entry fees. Female whales often swim within 100 metres of shore to calve and raise their young, making early mornings and late afternoons ideal times for sightings.

The whale watching platform is well designed and can cater for a decent crowd...no whales just yet, can't wait to come back during migration season. Lovely stretch of beach for a stroll on too. Quite a few steps from the viewing platform down to sea level so may not be suitable for some.

Access to the whale watching platform was easy. Ample car parking. There are informations about the histories of the whales and its habitat. Views of the beach were beautiful, wide sandy beach.

Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform is one of the best places in Australia to see southern right whales up close from land. During whale season, you can often spot mothers and calves resting just offshore, sometimes within a few hundred metres. The viewing platform is well designed, safe, and easy to access, making it perfect for families. The ocean views are stunning, and the experience is calm, educational, and truly unforgettable. A must-visit spot in Warrnambool.

Very extensive viewing platform for whale watching. Unfortunately not the right season for it in December. Good spot to view the ocean! Wheelchair friendly.

Although we were out with our timing for whale watching, (June-September), we decided that the day was pleasant enough to visit Logan's Beach, on the 'off chance'. As expected, there were no whale sightings in the hour or more that we were there, but plenty of bird life, & a couple of surfers enjoying the waves. The sound of the surf was relaxing, & the views breathtaking. It was a pleasant way to spend time in the morning. The viewing platform is in good condition, & would enable great views of the whales migrating. It would however, be difficult for anyone with mobility issues to use. We didn't have problems with parking, as the car park was close to the platform. There is no cost for parking. It would be difficult during peak whale watching season as the area isn't overly large. Well worth a visit.
