BIG4 Opal Holiday Park in Lightning Ridge was, by far, the best caravan park I have ever stayed at. The amenities were beautiful, modern, exceptionally clean and accessible. The laundry facilities were outstanding, with seven washing machines and two dryers. Each load cost $7, and the payment station was incredibly convenient—you could enter your phone number, pay electronically and receive a text message when your washing was nearly finished. The park also had a public fire pit, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen that was free for all guests to use, and a lovely, clean swimming pool area. One of the biggest advantages was the location. The Lightning Ridge Bore Baths were literally a five-minute walk across the road, which made it incredibly easy to enjoy them whenever we wanted. The entire park was well maintained, welcoming and thoughtfully designed for families and travellers. I could not recommend BIG4 Opal Holiday Park highly enough and would absolutely stay there again.

Perfect little park. Great location within walking distance to the shops and club. Managers of the park are so accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be returning.

This place in 1975 would have been good however neglect has turned it into a dump ,dark brick walls and dark timber ceilings combined with dark carpet tiles is depressing ,the lines you can see in the photos of the floor are the 5 and 6mm gaps in the tiles that should have been replaced 30 years ago ,we booked there because of the on site bistro but one meal there. was enough, the food being sub standard at best, our front door was glass ,inside was supposed to be a light curtain which is best described as a rag ,I had to put a towel over the do to stop the outside light shining through of a night and also for privacy, so when you look at their photos and think it can't be that bad ,well it is ,apart from all that all the staff were friendly and courteous and were a joy to deal with

Not a very memorable experience for the two of us. Check in was fine thanks to lovely French receptionist Louna. It went downhill from there. Room 27: Stale odour. Dark and dingy even in broad daylight. Super spongey bed that was well overdue for a mattress change. Bugs in old bathroom. Air conditioner that failed to work. Torn curtains which made it difficult to leave and enter room. This place needs a major overhaul.

Motel interior needs updating. Curtains all need a good wash and hanging properly, everything needs a good dust and paint. People were great and soooo accommodating, close to everything, its great to be right next to pub. I would stay again just for the convenience.
