I am not sure if we accessed the falls from the wrong road as it was difficult to find straightforward directions. The drive was windy and I think took at least half an hour, unsigned, no mobile phone reception, no toilets. Dangerous to get to when it has been raining.

We visited the falls over the weekend and the trip was truly rewarding. The water levesl were pretty good esp for the summer time. Morwell Falls are an amazing spot for nature lovers who donβt mind a bit of effort to get there. The final stretch of the drive includes around 11 km of gravel road, which is quite rough in patches, so take it slow and take care of the on coming traffic especially after rains. The walking trail is easy to medium, making it suitable for most people with a reasonable level of fitness. The walk itself is pleasant and adds to the sense of adventure. The real highlight is the falls themselvesβgorgeous, peaceful, and surprisingly varied, with 2β3 different kinds of waterfalls to admire along the way. A great spot to slow down, soak in the sounds of water and forest, and enjoy a less-crowded Gippsland gem.

Beautiful Hidden Gem β But Not for Crowds or Picnics Morwell River Falls is a lovely little spot, perfect for a short hike and soaking in the magic of the falls. The trail is peaceful, and the falls themselves are a stunning reward at the end. However, the viewing area is quite small, so itβs not ideal for large groups or crowds. There arenβt many facilities eitherβno picnic tables or toiletsβso itβs not the best place for a family day out. Still, itβs a great detour if you're after a quiet nature moment and some beautiful scenery.

Very picturesque, a great place for a walk to see some lovely waterfalls, tall mountain ash trees and large tree ferns. Some very interesting fungi spotted growing on trees and the ground. The walking tracks were a bit muddy when we visited as it had been raining in the previous week and the lyrebirds had been doing a fair bit of digging on the sides of the tracks. There are a few seating areas and shelters with signage (vandalised so difficult to read). Tracks and steps are steep in some places so a moderate level of fitness is required to access all areas, I wouldn't recommend visiting if you have mobility issues.
