Located near Winton in central Queensland, Lark Quarry Conservation Park preserves the world's only known dinosaur stampede site. The conservation building protects approximately 4,000 fossilised footprints left by hundreds of small dinosaurs around 95 million years ago as they fled across mudβan event that inspired the stampede scenes in Jurassic Park and BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs. Paleontologists from the Queensland Museum excavated the site beginning in 1976.
