About Large Fig Tree
The Curtain Fig Tree, located just outside Yungaburra on the Atherton Tableland, is an extraordinary 500+ year old strangler fig tree standing nearly 50 metres tall with a 39-metre trunk circumference. The tree's distinctive aerial roots descend 15 metres to the forest floor, creating a spectacular natural 'curtain'. An elevated boardwalk allows visitors to view the tree from all angles while exploring the surrounding protected mabi forest. This natural wonder has been a major tourist attraction since the 1920s.

An impressive tree and nice elevated walking boardwalk that is pram and wheelchair friendly. However it’s a very short walk and I’m surprised this is designated a national park.

If you are about to drive by this - STOP and visit!!! Its free and is a very easy short walk in and around this HUGE tree. Very interesting sign as to how this tree came about. Its so worth taking the time to have a look, we nearly drove on by but so glad we stopped.

This is a great botanical wonder and apparently is the most visited tree in northern Queensland. There is a board walk around the tree so you can appreciate all sides of it. There are lots of photo opportunities here too. Unfortunately the area of remnant forest is relatively small.

Absolutely worth checking out, you can see it from the carpark, easy walk and wheelchair accessible. Easier and more convenient to access than cathedral tree, plenty of benches. Loved it, it is a must see!

Great spot, easy to park, nice path to the tree. Very cool in the forest, wet when we were there too. Worth the deviation
