Worth the drive! Amazing rainforest hike with multiple trail options. We caught a beautiful sunset near O’Reilly’s Mountain Cafe after finishing the Border Track. Wish we had time for the Wishing Tree Track and Tree Top Walk—next time!

One of the most beautiful national parks in Australia and a bucketlist destination for any hiker and nuture lover. It is well worth the drive out to the park for a day trip or you can stay for the weekend or weekdays at the accommodation. They have a retreat, cabins and a camping area, I recommend booking in advance. There's do much to see within a short distance such as the tree top walk, the gardens, visitors and information centre, wildlife and birds that frequent local grounds and the endless hiking trails. There are some novice grade paved hiking trails for people to explorer the local sights and there are extensive medium and difficult grade trails all over the mountain and national park that require good fitness and stamina. I recommend you use a good navigation app such as Alltrails which is available on Google and Apple to plan your hikes and for navigation (see my photos)

Lamington National Park (started at O’Reilly’s) is incredibly serene, beautiful & quiet. You can go for short walks (1-2 klms), longer walks (5-12 klms) or longer walks (20+ klms). The scenery & rainforest is untouched & lovely. There is plenty of local birds & animals to watch & see. A skywalk is around 20 mtrs above ground & there is an enclosed ladder to climb to the tree tops (30 mtrs above ground). These views are spectacular. I recommend wearing good walking shoes or runners due to the downhill climb to a waterfall & fresh water swimming hole.

Love this national park!! Great for a family day out! Lots to see and explore! Picnic areas galore, great scenic views to be photographed ! Worth the drive from Brisbane on a weekend!! Can't wait to do it again!!
