Nice detour on the road! Glad we went, wonder what it would be like at night on the sky chairs…… we never found out! But the area was sparse and the facilities basic for the weary traveller.

Lake Tyrrell is one of Victoria’s most famous salt lakes, featuring vast white salt flats that create a truly unique landscape. When conditions are right, the shallow water produces stunning mirror-like reflections, making sunrise, sunset, and stargazing especially memorable. As Victoria’s largest salt lake, it is definitely worth visiting for photography and scenic views. However, beyond the salt lake itself, there are limited activities and facilities, and the long drive can be disappointing if the lake is dry or the weather is poor. Overall, it’s a great destination for photographers and nature lovers, but not necessarily a full-day attraction.

Lake Tyrrell, you did not disappoint! Drove across from Swan Hill for the sunset, and got double with lots of pink in the water. So peaceful and quiet as well. Definitely worth the effort!

Great view of massive lake unfortunately couldn't stay for sunset which would have been even better, but nice little board walk out over the lake Sky lounge looks good to view the stars with clean toilets one spot for wireless charging.

Excellent accessible experience. The platform, car park, walkways and toilets are all wheelchair friendly. The lake is a vast landscape with beautiful colours. There is a sky lounge for star gazing. This truly is a magical place that’s incredibly accessible for wheelchairs.
