Bring your own food because the restaurant (while beautiful inside and lovely staff) is expensive for very small portions. After a day of walking you're hungry and a tiny steak with 2 green veg on the side for $50 does not cut it. This is not the place for fine dining when the main activity to do is hiking. Restaurant needs to re-think it's approach. Or they need to have a general store with pre packed food available. The lake was beautiful, serene and their were plenty of easy walks across bush, snow and beach. π The cabin was basic but we had a great sleep and it's a short walk to the waters edge. Close to other cabins but positioned so you have privacy. Hot water pressure was terrible and a shower is freezing cold for 5 mins and hot for 30seconds in a cycle. The cabins are cold during winter so the heater is on all the time and it's not very good at heating the room. Overall I would return, but make sure we stocked up on food before hand.

Very comfortable bed in a cabin setting. Nice mix. Friendly staff. The manager worked hard to ensure all my questions were answered. Boat ferry captain was super nice and helpful. Emma the bartender was very generous with her time talking with me.

Lovely stay at Lake St Clair Lodge. Our cabin was comfortable and clean with a nice deck overlooking the lake. The restaurant and tavern staff were very nice and provided excellent service. The one restaurant meal we had was delicious! Hats off to the chef! We'd love to come back.

We donβt leave many low reviews, so itβs disappointing to have to write this one. We had lunch here today and ordered two pizzas, a chicken burger and the house burger. Unfortunately, the food was pretty underwhelming. The chips were almost black but somehow also very soggy β they honestly felt like theyβd been sitting in water. Both burgers were quite dry and fairly ordinary. The pizzas were listed as having handmade bases, but they really didnβt seem like it. The bases were not great and it would be very surprising if they were actually handmade. Service was also fairly average. The staff werenβt rude, but everything seemed unnecessarily difficult and they werenβt particularly helpful. Even ordering coffee with a splash of Baileys ended up taking several minutes of explaining before it finally happened. On the positive side, the coffee itself was good β although the Baileys may have helped with that. We almost always leave 4- or 5-star reviews, so giving two stars is not something we do lightly. Itβs a shame, because we were hoping for a much better experience.

All I can say is we didn't even stay even though we had paid in full for the"experience" Let me preface with after I had read recent reviews I contacted the lodge and asked for a refund sadly no response! We turned up and the weather was dismal so we would have been stuck in our cabin from 1130am. The restaurant was over priced, and the food looked like it had been there for a while I told the clerk that we would not be staying and could the manager please call me. I was pretty sure that they could rent out our room as it was only 1130am and there is no accommodation near by Off course the manager did not call and we lost our$495 Put it down to a bad experience! We continued driving to Hobart and had two great nights there! Moral to the story is just because you paid for it you don't have to stay!
