My partner and I were on a guided tour of K'gari and this lake was our last stop. Sadly due to the tardiness of other passengers in the bus at other stops our time here was cut to 45 minutes. We would have loved more time. The clear blue fresh water lake was beautiful we greatly enjoyed our swim.

Like a freshwater carribean beach. There was a large group of school kids that were making the most of their time there, once they left it was so quite and surreal. We only had 45 minutes here but wish we had half the day.

An actual real honest review of this place and perhaps an unpopular opinion. Just a big heads up it is extremely busy here at this time of year! (January 8th) You will be trying to enjoy it with hundreds of others. The carpark is completely full before 10am. We tried to come 4 days before but the rangers were turning all cars around 7km away at the track start because the carpark was full and saying come back late afternoon. The second attempt was when we came. It was raining all morning and then overcast on the day and yet still the carpark was completely full by 9:30am. Complete chaos. People were doing 6 loops trying to wait for someone to leave. It felt like it was Christmas day at Bondi Beach. From my estimated count there were over 250 there. And this is on an average day water clarity wasn't good, it was cloudy and windy. The road in you are constantly having to pull over off the side and play a game of chicken whilst letting cars pass. You keep meeting and running into oncoming traffic. It's pretty hectic. Don't get my wrong the lake itself is stunning. But just be prepared as everything else does spoil it abit. The tourism body and marketing department of Fraser highlight this place and push it too much. There's plenty of other amazing spots on the island.

The lake is renowned and exceptionally beautiful. The water is reminiscent of Whitsundays and Green Island, but it's sweet, calm, and pure - that make quite a difference. There are arrangements for changing, though a bit smelly (but manageable). Our guided tour arranged for food, parking, and all that we needed for the day - so, we just enjoyed the lake for 45 minutes. Discovery K'gari allocated about 90 mins at this spot, including lunch, and was sufficient to satiate our thirst for this place! There is no wait time as such for the lake, but queue at Inskip for Manta Ray Barge was unimaginably long. We fortunately were with Discovery K'gari and did not need to queue up.

Beautiful spot. Fresh water and very clean. With more international visitors comes new issues - Drones - buzzing overhead without any consideration - just annoying when your trying to relax. And at the same time the same people - Beach games - had that group just hitting a ball back and forth with a bat for 45 min in front of us while we were sun bathing , they had no sense of personal space. Your there to relax ! So hold off and do that stuff down on the main beach. I really hope people take this on board. Its a beach to relax . The car park took ages to get to, someone was bogged and there wasn't enough room for visitors to park so they just parked on the track waiting which caused about 15 cars stranded waiting.
