It's a nice spot to visit but the lake hasn't been pink since the 70s and is now just a grey lake. Reading the signage as to why is interesting.

There's a sign at the lake explaining why it's not pink anymore, and hasn't been for a while. The day I was there it was very dry and smelly. I wouldn't bother going back

What a shock it was for me when i arrived. I was lead to believe by multiple people that this lake would have been pink just like my favourite drink, pink lemonade. I was even starting to hope that it was actually filled with pink lemonade or this is where they sourced it from. I was surprised when I took a sip that it just tasted like dirt rather than the sweet taste of pink lemonade. They might have somehow cleared out the dirt and made it pink to sell in the shops, and I hope they keep on doing this because this just tasted truly awful. Please don't make the same mistake I have and come here expecting Pink lemonade but expect a lake.

The lookout at Pink Lake offers a lovely panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, even though the lake itself hasnβt shown its famous color since the 1990s. The area is calm, open, and gives you a clear sense of the regionβs natural beauty. Itβs definitely worth a short stop, especially if you enjoy scenic viewpoints and want to take in the peaceful atmosphere.
