About Koonin Lookout

Koonin Lookout is in Crows Nest National Park, about 45 to 50 minutes from Toowoomba, Queensland. The walk is 4.5 km, graded as Grade 3, and takes about 1.5 hours. The lookout provides views over Crows Nest Creek and the Valley of Diamonds gorge, whose name comes from sunlight glinting off granite. The current structure dates from 2006 and sits 2.2 km from the Crows Nest Falls car park. Many visitors combine the Koonin Lookout with two other features along the bushwalk: The Pools and Crows Nest Falls. The nearby Kauyoo Loop offers a side trip to Kauyoo Pool.
