About Killalea State Park Camping Area
Killalea State Park is a NSW National Surfing Reserve renowned for its world-class breaks at The Farm and Mystics, making it a premier destination for surfers and coastal explorers. The campground offers tent sites with access to camp facilities, hot showers and BBQs, positioned between Wollongong and Kiama with excellent bushwalking and fishing nearby. Summer and school holiday bookings fill quickly—reserve well in advance. Dogs and campfires are not permitted at the site.

Another ‘well managed’ park from NSW National Parks if you like forests of invasive weeds on barren former industrial wasteland To top it off, despite being next to a large suburb, as well as a quarry, NSW National Parks for “environmental protection” mandate a no dogs policy. What a joke - if you have a dog, or can’t stand seeing out of control lantana, do not come.

Often walk in this park while we're staying in Shell Cove area. There are several different paths, feeling so close to nature... plenty of birds, a lot of black swans in the Lagoon, saw whales numerous times, and also saw two black snakes so be aware! There are picnic tables, restroom near the main entrance area. Absolutely love hiking in this park!

Stunning views with two of the nicest beaches. It's worth the drive from Sydney. The hills are perfect for picnicking or sitting while enjoying the views. The night sky is lit up with stars after Sunset.
