Remote location. Stunning gorges. Requires a level of fitness. Beautiful sunsets. Dinner in restaurant mostly very good. We stayed 3 nights in the luxury tents. Unfortunately during this time we did not get a change of towels nor were bins emptied. There were a couple of other problems but mostly very enjoyable.

Karijini Eco Retreat was an absolutely unreal experience and the perfect base to explore one of the most breathtaking parts of WA. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming and surrounded by incredible Pilbara scenery. The eco tents were comfortable, clean and gave you that perfect balance between camping and comfort, especially after a long day walking through the gorges. The location is spot on, with easy access to some of Karijini’s best attractions. Standing down in the gorges surrounded by towering red rock walls and crystal-clear pools was something else entirely. Every view looked like a postcard. The restaurant and bar area were another highlight. Great food, cold drinks and a really laid-back vibe made it easy to sit back and take it all in after a big day exploring. Watching the sunset with a drink in hand while surrounded by the Pilbara landscape is hard to beat. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay and everything felt well organised despite being in such a remote location. If you’re planning a trip to Karijini, I’d highly recommend staying at Karijini Eco Retreat. It’s an experience in itself, not just accommodation.

Very disappointed with our stay, even cut it short & left early. We did our research contacted them early & recommended our caravan have a site on 3 loops to take advantage of the sunset and this was ignored on check in. We were put on “Wattle Loop” near staff & miner accommodation & had cars going past all hours of the day & night along with generator noise from this area to top it off a smelly pit toilet shared by at least 7 caravans being crammed together! I can understand if they were booked out on 3 other loop sites but this was not the case after we drove around the park. Our 3 night stay turned into a terrible noisey dusty experience & we left after 2. The lights and car park from reception and “ restaurant” were annoying also. We booked into the “restaurant” went in & looked at the menu, found this unappealing so cancelled. I contacted management in regards to this was told no refunds & basically apologised for staff not informing me at check in. If I knew I was going to be positioned where I was i would not have booked & definitely not 3 nights. No power or water I get that but a noisey generator for staff & miners & utes coming in & out all night? No thanks. We stayed 2 nights at Dales Campground, toilets did not smell, well maintained & cleaned, less than half the price & bigger so quiet, spaced out sites, so much much better than here. Eco Retreat? Definitely not in a caravan.i would not recommend come here, stay at Dales Campground that was a magnificent experience.

We received a very friendly welcome from Simone, who shared helpful tips for hikes and planning our stay. We stayed in a tent with a comfortable king bed and an ensuite bathroom. The tent is spacious enough and comes with a kettle, though otherwise fairly basic. There’s no air conditioning, which we were aware of, only a fan. It was still very hot inside. The outdoor bathroom was fine, with some visits from frogs and ants, which didn’t bother us much given the natural setting. The location is excellent, with beautiful gorges just a few minutes away for hiking. A continental breakfast was included and was good. We also had dinner at the restaurant in the evening. The dishes were solid but generally lacked a bit of salt and depth of flavor. Prices are reasonable considering the remote location, and the service was friendly and accommodating, making an effort to give us a nice table. Overall, the price for an eco tent is on the higher side, but the experience was still worthwhile.

My fiancée and I had the most amazing experience here when we camped in our tentbox in March! Our camping spot was quiet and surrounded by the most beautiful and unique views of Karijini. Dingo Dave, Ange and Simone (as well as the other staff we encountered) were all exceptional. They were so professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly lovers and custodians of the beautiful nature of the National Park. The facilities are very good and well maintained. We loved starting and ending our days in the bar and restaurant area. I think it’s worth noting that you’re staying in the heart of Western Australian wilderness, so the weather can be hot and you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife. Our real praise for the staff was that anytime our adventure limits were pushed, they were there to offer a kind, good-humoured helping hand, with a pragmatic solution always found. A truly memorable stay, and we hope to return one day!
