Julius River Forest Reserve sits on the northern edge of Tasmania's Tarkine rainforest wilderness in the far north-west near Arthur River. The reserve features two short easy loop walks including a walk through cool temperate rainforest following the river on boardwalks and steps with a viewing platform, usually taking 30 to 45 minutes to complete. An interpretive rainforest walk leads to a limestone sinkhole among ferns, bush orchids, mosses and fungi, plus nearby Lake Chisholm walk through old-growth myrtle forest. Small six-site campground in rainforest with basic amenities, closed in winter.
