On the road out of Queenstown you'll find the Iron Blow Lookout. This place gives you a short history lesson on the area, the people who found good and copper, and how Queenstown started alive when the town's around it didn't. It is a narrow single lane road up to the lookout, so be aware of oncoming traffic.

After going to Horsetail Falls, we just headed opposite to Iron Blow Lookout. Spectacular views all over again, with its blue water and the surrounding hill slopes. Much recommended!

Beautiful colours. Excellent quick stop that’s 30 seconds off the Lyall Hwy. Lots of history boards to read and a very safe platform to stand on

Easy to access. Interesting history of mining to read. Great view of hills and old mining sites. Well said for "Gravel not Grass" for Queenstown's catch phrase.

Beautiful blue water filled mining hole and amazing views across the landscape from the viewing platform (not great if you have a fear of heights) Great history boards to read. A narrow 900m road off the highway but can mostly see what is coming. We towed 16ft van up and parked in front of the closed gate. Was a weekend but only one car when we arrived and another coming in when we left.
