Located in Normanville on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, the HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout honours two vessels named HMAS Hobart—a World War I cruiser and Vietnam War destroyer—plus the currently in-service HMAS Hobart III. An anchor from the destroyer marks its scuttled location, while an updated 2025 interpretive sign provides historical detail. Fantastic lookout over the North West side of Fleurieu Peninsula. There is access to the beach a few hundred metres down the road. The water looks great for a swim or paddle board.

Popped in here mid Oct 2025 - lovely spot and interesting. HMAS Hobart was a guided missile destroyer in the Royal Australian Navy built in the USA and one of Australia's greatest naval destroyers, her distinguished career included being the first Royal Australian Navy combat ship deployed to fight in the Vietnam War, and being part of the Royal Australian Navy disaster relief effort following Cyclone Tracy in Darwin in 1974. It was decommissioned in 2000 and scuttled on 5 November 2002 about 10.5km due west of the lookout. The ship is now a premier eco-tourism dive site and a declared marine reserve. It is also a lasting memorial to the ship and its crews.
