Bite the bullet and rent the e-bike to take in the whole park! The staff is friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. The food at the Lodge is quite good saving a trip off-site, even though local options are inviting, too.

We absolutely love Itasca State Park. The camping, hiking, and biking opportunities are outstanding, and there is always something new to discover throughout the park. From the Mississippi River Headwaters to the beautiful forests and lakes, it is one of Minnesota's most impressive outdoor destinations. One thing that really surprised us was the visitor center. Most state park visitor centers are simply a place to check in or pick up information, but Itasca's visitor center is an attraction in itself. The exhibits, displays, and overall quality are exceptional. Honestly, if someone told you it was a National Park visitor center, you would believe it. It is that well done. If you're visiting Itasca State Park, make sure to spend some time in the visitor center and don't just drive past it. It is one of the highlights of the park. Highly recommended!

The staff was great. Wheelchairs and kid carts, strollers - easy access to see headwaters. Only 800 feet from parking. Best to go on weekday, less people. Beautiful place. The café prices were cheaper than food at a sporting event. You can get a hot dog without going broke. Family friendly. Lots of picnic spots.
