Lovely park, well located, within walking distance to Marina and shopping centre. Lots of sites to suit many types of vans, streets are tight for reversing and parking on some sites. Amenities fairly new, great showers, nice camp kitchen. Only criticism is finding the recycling and rubbish bin disposal, a big trek for many. Right near exit to park.

absolutely fantastic! Lovely friendly people who couldn’t be more helpful. Amenities are 5🌟and so clean. sites are plentiful but the park is still quiet and peaceful. Swimming on both sides of the park. We walked to Shoal bay and Nelson Bay in about 30 minutes. Highly recommend. We will be back 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Halifax Holiday Park in Nelson Bay was a fantastic getaway and exceeded my expectations. The location is absolutely perfect, with just a short walk to the beach as well as the local shops, cafes, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. It made the whole trip feel easy and convenient without needing to drive everywhere. Overall, the experience was wonderful and truly great value for money. The park was welcoming, well-positioned, and made for a stress-free holiday. A special thank you to the lovely staff, who were friendly, helpful, and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return again in the future. Highly recommend Halifax Holiday Park to anyone looking for a relaxing and affordable stay in Nelson Bay.

Location is great. So close to two beaches. Amenities are new and really good with large rainwater shower heads. Park is well maintained and clean. BUT there is very little shade on our site or most other sites and we absolutely baked. To dispose of rubbish it needs to be taken to the one dump point at the entrance to the park. This was a quite a distance from our site. Only having one rubbish disposal location shows a lack of care for their patrons with the priority being the convenience of park management. I would never stay here again.

We stayed for a week over the Christmas period. The facilities are modern and in great condition. Unfortunately, because it was peak holiday season, the women’s bathrooms were often unclean due to the high volume of use. On one occasion there was poo in the shower drain, and on multiple occasions toilets were left blocked with toilet paper and waste, as well as toilet paper on the floor. When the cleaners had been through, everything was great - but the difference was noticeable during the periods between cleaning. Obviously this isn’t the camp’s fault; however, due to the number of families staying at the time, the park felt chaotic. There were many young children riding bikes and scooters along the paths and roads, often directly towards you / cars & sometimes unaccompanied by an adult. If you don’t have kids or prefer a calmer environment, I’d recommend visiting outside of school holidays. The WiFi does not work properly (staff are aware of this), and there was limited mobile service. This isn’t usually an issue; however, for a one-week stay it did become inconvenient at times. Finally, we booked our one-week stay in advance, which was quite expensive for a tent site ($945), and were not allowed to extend our stay unless we paid for another full week. This was disappointing, as we only wanted to stay an additional three days, making the cost difficult to justify - so we cut our holiday short. That said, the location is lovely, with the beach and cafΓ© only a two-minute walk away, and the reception staff were very friendly.
