About Guide Falls
Guide Falls near Penguin in northwest Tasmania features a tiered-cascade waterfall on the Guide River. An easy 10-minute walk down the rivulet reaches the waterfall base, with a steep stairway ascending to a top viewing platform for bird's-eye views. The falls flow year-round but peak spectacularly in winter and spring, located 20 minutes into the hinterland from Burnie's CBD.

Amazing falls, unexpected delight close to Burnie. You can get right up next to the falls if you want (or need a shower). Great walking paths, lovely ground and many vantage points to enjoy the views.

Absolutely beautiful spot. The falls were amazing after all the rain. Best way to get there is to walk from the picnic area if your not comfortable with stairs.

Great falls, nice walk to the bottom but can see from the top easily.

A stunning waterfall to visit. We visited during heavy rainfall so the waterfall was definitely larger than normal. The riverside walk from the car park is currently closed due to recent storm, however you can still drive up to the top car park, from there the viewing platform is just a few metres away.

Guide Falls is an absolute gem! The falls themselves are stunning. The area is well-maintained, with clean picnic spots and easy walking tracks that make it accessible for visitors. The walk to the falls is short and pleasant, surrounded by lush greenery that really adds to the experience. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful escape into nature. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the North West area.
