Loved the windy steap driven climb up. Very steep did use 4x4 to come down given my lack of confidence.

Best way to get to the top of Grassy Hill is walking, (well for me it is). Ive walked it in the morning, afternoon and evening. Beautiful views over Cooktown at anytime of the day. Though hold onto your hat it's windy.

Cooktown is one of those rare places that still feels untouched. The views from Grassy Hill are absolutely spectacular, especially at sunset when the sky glows over the river and sea. The townβs history is fascinating β the museum and monuments really bring the story of Cookβs landing to life, and thereβs a strong sense of connection to the past. I loved the friendly locals, the easy pace of life, and how close you are to both rainforest and reef. Itβs a long drive north, but completely worth it for the scenery, the history, and the feeling of being right on the edge of the continent. 5 stars

Good condition road to climb to the top - moderate climb but doable Great position and view of the river and some of the coast shame they don't remove some trees on the estuary side to make it, you kniw, a view point π There are plenty more trees, don't worry.....
